Community of Best Practice

A Data Repository of Reservoir Analyses for Unconventional Wells

Acquire greater insight into unconventional reservoir behaviour.

Fekete’s Community of Best Practice is a cooperative environment in which companies can learn about reservoir behaviour and well performance in various oil & gas plays. Each community represents an active unconventional play and will contain wells analyzed by Fekete’s engineering team. This is an opportunity to participate in an expanding knowledge base of unconventional expertise.

Why Participate?

Unconventional development is relatively new, quite complex, and very expensive. A community approach will quickly create a broad knowledge base that members can study to help make better decisions and improve development strategies.

Fekete’s unique expertise in unconventional research, consulting, and software makes us a worthy steward of this evolving body of knowledge in unconventional development.

Benefits of Participation

  • Valuable information on wells in your area that would not otherwise available to you.
  • New insight on your wells based on Fekete’s extensive unconventional experience.
  • Meaningful well comparisons because each well is analyzed in a consistent manner.
  • Involvement with other companies in the community via Fekete sponsored gatherings.
  • Continual value as new wells and data are added and new completion methods are evaluated.
Communities Initially Offered

Fekete would like to eventually establish a Community for every unconventional play. Here is the status of Fekete’s Community initiative.

  • Community established - Eagle Ford formed in October 2011.
  • Community formation in progress - Montney, Marcellus.
  • In active discussion - Haynesville, Bakken, Duvernay.
  • Under future consideration - Woodford, Fayetteville, Niobrara, Cardium, Horn River, Utica.

There are many other North American, South American, and European shales that would benefit from a Fekete Community. Please contact Dean Anderson at 403-213-4200 or community@fekete.com for additional information.
