In PAS Viewer, copy (exactly) the last entry from the Cumulative Total Gas Volume All Meters column from the Data Table Summary into the appropriate field in Test Data. If you need to divide the volume between two more fields, the total must equal (exactly) the last entry in the Cumulative Total Gas Volume All Meters column from the Data Table Summary.
Some common errors include:
• Value [xx.xxxx] of ~DTSUM,VTGAS.E3M3, {Cumulative Total Gas Volume All Meters} just equal the total yy.yyyy of FLGAS, INGAS, PLGAS, VNGAS, in data table DTSUM.
Version 2.024 (September 2004)
Known Issues/Fixes
Gas composition appears in New Meter Reports only.
NOTE: Do not use old reports. They will be removed in the next version.
When opening a file that has a gas meter deleted, it caused FieldNotes to crash. This has been resolved with no loss of data.
We have fixed all known issues to date with regards to the PAS PRD format, as follows:
• Improved Certify.
• All time errors for any table are shown as the date and time in the PAS certify status window.
• A Recertify button has been added to PAS certify status window.
• ~DTLIQ(#) LTLQ Sum of water, oil and cond. volumes are no longer out by 0.0001.
• Copy and paste works between all editors.
• We no longer has small differences between the PAS pages and Field Measurement page for gas rates and volumes.
• Empty meters do not appear in PAS.
• Some common errors include:
• Value [xx.xxxx] of ~DTSUM,VTGAS.E3M3, {Cumulative Total Gas Volume All Meters} just equal the total yy.yyyy of FLGAS, INGAS, PLGAS, VNGAS, in data table DTSUM.
• In PAS Viewer copy exactly the last entry from the Cumulative Total Gas Volume All Meters column from the Data Table Summary into the appropriate field in Test Data. If you need to divide the volume between two more fields the total must exactly equal the last entry in the Cumulative Total Gas Volume All Meters column from the Data Table Summary.
Version 2.018 (August 2004)
Known Issues/Fixes
In some instances when File was saved, they could not be re-opened. The data is not lost and can be opened with this version.
Removed some of the PAS Ver. 2.1 options. We are continuing to fix any known issues with regards to the PAS PRD format.
Version 2.012 (July 2004)
Known Issues/Fixes
We have fixed all known issues to date with regards to the PAS PRD format, as follows:
• Value [xx.xxxx] of ~DTSUM,VTGAS.E3M3, {Cumulative Total Gas Volume All Meters} just equal the total yy.yyyy of FLGAS, INGAS, PLGAS, VNGAS, in data table DTSUM. In PAS Viewer copy exactly the last entry from the Cumulative Total Gas Volume All Meters column from the Data Table Summary into the appropriate field in Test Data. If you need to dived the volume between two more fields the total must equal the last entry in the Cumulative Total Gas Volume All Meters column from the Data Table Summary.
• At least one line must contain a non null value for attribute ~DTLIC (1),API,{API}. This occurs in Oil Meters; you must enter the API value in your oil meter located in the Meter Configuration Bar.
• At least one line must contain a non null value for attribute ~DTLIC (1),PH., {Ph}. In Data Field Measurements right click on a columns title, select show columns from the menu, from the the list select the pH column. Enter the pH values on lines that correspond to a fluid meter reading.
• At least one line must contain a non null value for attribute ~DTLIC (1),SALT., {Salinity Ppm}. In Data Field Measurements right click on a columns title, select show columns from the menu, from the list select the Salinity column. Enter the Salinity values on lines that correspond to a fluid meter reading.
Version 2.003 (July 2004)
Known Issues/Fixes
In Alberta, effective July 5, 2004, the regulatory board has updated the PAS standard from version 2.1 to version 4.0. FieldNotes version 2.000 supports reading and writing both versions of PAS.
There are two new tabs on the left side, Data and PAS Viewer, that you will see on start-up. The Data tab contains the table and plots. The PAS Viewer Tab contains required PAS version 4.0 information. The only tabs you need to complete are WellInfo and TestData. Other tabs will automatically be updated from the data that you have already entered into the tables and meters.
No new Meters types have been added for this release. However, we added a new gas properties correlation (AGA8) as an option when setting up the reservoir gas composition.
When configuring columns for a new gas meter you will notice eight new columns: Three gas component columns (H2S, N2 CO2), Three columns to track the cumulative volumes of each component, a net cumulative gas column, and a diagnostic column (Z factor).
The Meter Configuration Bar can now be resized and attached to any edge of a FieldNotes window.
When you read a PAS file into FieldNotes it goes into what is called “Viewer” mode. This means that FieldNotes will NOT recalculate the rates and cum automatically. You will not be allowed to edit any of the data. Don’t panic, once you press the recalculate button or
select the “Recalculate” menu entry, FieldNotes will return to full functionality.
Due to PAS requirement changes, the Ph column must have at least one Entry for all oil meters. Also the Salinity column must have at least one entry when using either an oil or water meter.

In plots under Add/Remove curves if you remove a curve from the right side of the plot and immediately try to place it on the left side of the plot the program will terminate abruptly
Version 1.590 (February 1999)
Known Issues/Fixes
Further PAS PRD refinements.
The footer cums are now correct.
FieldNotes™ now allows cutting and pasting from other field measurements spreadsheets. Configure the FieldNotes™ table in the same way as the original spreadsheet. Cut individual columns or a range of columns from the original table. Highlight the comparable column in FieldNotes™, Right-Click and select Paste.
Version 1.580 (January 1999)
New Features
PAS PRD refinements.
Print filter now works correctly.
Cums are now calculated correctly. You must zero all meters at both the top and bottom of a shut in period to calculate cums correctly.
The new 32 bit FieldNotes™ offers more gas meter choices than the original FieldNotes™ did. Bean Chokes, Adjustable Chokes and ½" Integral Orifice Meters have been added to the existing meter selections of orifice meter, pitot tube and critical flow prover. Correlations below critical conditions have also been implemented.
FieldNotes™ allows the user to directly enter a measured rate for an oil, gas, water or condensate meter.
FieldNotes™ files can create PAS files for submission to the AEUB.
Clear recognition of flow and shut-in periods has been made possible by the assignment of a color to each period. On the screen, periods of flow are colored green, while periods of shut-in are colored red. Printouts indicate flow with white rows and shut-in with shaded rows.
FieldNotes™ has a revised table set-up. Once you add any meter an Add Columns dialog box appears immediately, which facilitates table customization. Also, when you would like to add a new column to a table the Show Columns option contains an alphabetically ordered list of only the headings relevant to the active meters. An added feature of the new FieldNotes™ table is the production summary which is printed at the bottom of each page.
Beyond the Field Measurements table, FieldNotes™ also includes a Production Summary Table and an Activity Log.
FieldNotes™ includes a report generator with which you can create a General Information Report, a Well Information Report or a Client Information Report. Each report can either be created from a default format or can be readily customized to suit each users needs. Hard copy reports of the EUB PAS-PRD Well Information and Test Data can also be easily generated.
FieldNotes™ has simplified the use of templates. When FieldNotes™ is first opened the user is immediately prompted to select a template, open an existing file or create a new file.
FieldNotes™ offers a number of new plotting features. Among these are annotation arrows which can be placed so that they point to a particular feature of the plot. Pointers can also be used to display the value of a particular data point. Cum time, date time and rate are only some of the items that can be displayed for any data point on the plot. Another added feature is the ability to display the Date and Clock time instead of the cumulative time as the scale on the x-axis. Additionally, the user can now include an unlimited number of annotations on any given plot.
