Version 7.0 Build 2 (September 2007)

New Features

Enhanced functionality of gradient analysis. When multiple points are selected at the same depth, either the first or last point can be selected to establish/represent the pressure at the specified datum depth.

Improved functionality of AEUB PAS editors. Data entered in “test information” or established from static gradient analyses are automatically transferred to the required PAS fields. If changes are made to the test
information or gradient analyses, the corresponding PAS fields are automatically updated and identified with blue text.

Known Issues/Fixes

Data entered directly into PAS editors are displayed as black text, and will not be updated until they are deleted by the user. The PAS fields in a previously created file will not update automatically until they are deleted by the user.

Functionality of the ‘merge’ feature has been improved.

Functionality of the AEUB PAS ‘certify’ feature has been improved.

Some items in the old reports (accessed through the file menu) do not update. Therefore, the new reports (accessed through the reports tab) should be used to avoid omission of critical information.

Please ensure the gauge start time is correct when importing data (including XML files). Changes made after importing will not be reflected in the reports.

After synchronizing pressure gauges, the comments column from one gauge must be copied to all other gauges to ensure all data is properly aligned on the data table listing.

Version 6.820 (May 2007)

New Features

A new data interchange has been incorporated to import production data directly from any .fld file or PRD.PAS file created with F.A.S.T. FieldNotes™ V. 3.000 (or higher). To enable the new data interchange, you must either have an active license of F.A.S.T. FieldNotes™ 3.XXX or a copy of F.A.S.T. FieldNotes Viewer™ 3.XXX (included in the WellTest installation). This is part of an interoperability initiative to share more information between F.A.S.T applications.

Data entry fields for General Info, Well Info, and Test Data have been consolidated into one data entry field entitled Test Information. Information entered into this section is automatically transferred to the AEUB PAS editors and relevant reports.

A new enhanced report system has been implemented, which is accessed from the Reports tab. Several general report templates are included. Pages can be re-arranged, and any of the general reports can be combined to create one report for printing hardcopies or PDF formats. Any of the general report templates can be modified and saved as custom report templates or new custom reports can be generated from scratch. For tips on incorporating company logos and creating templates, go to Help, Getting Started, Creating Reports.

Known Issues/Fixes

The Representative Gradient in the new reports does not update properly. To update this item, either print preview the Alternate Gradient Report, which is accessed through the file menu, or save and reopen the file.

When the print filter is used on multiple gauges, the comments may not be displayed on the correct row of the data table listing within the new reports. It is recommended that the old reports be used to print the data table.

For AEUB PAS users, the information from the Test Data tab (production intervals, tubing/casing pressures) must be edited in PAS. If this information is edited in the Test Information data entry field, it is not transferred to PAS or saved.

Version 6.793 (Oct 2006)

Known Issues/Fixes

New Features

Compliant with AEUB PAS version 4.0 formats for GRD, TRG and DST. Converts AEUB PAS version 2.1 files (GRD, TRG and DST) to AEUB PAS version 4.0 format.

Interface for gradient analysis includes deviation survey for deviated/horizontal wells, and more flexibility in identifying liquid interfaces. Four new gradient and wireline reports.

Enhanced data importing interface, which includes an option for importing multiple gauges simultaneously.

Auto importing is activated when properly structured text files are detected with columns identified using common data headings.

Communication can be established with databases via XML file format.

The method of calculating static gradients, used in ValiData version 4.000 and earlier, is still accessible.

Known Issues/Fixes

All depths used for calculations in ValiData are referenced to KB, as in previous versions. However, in AEUB PAS version 4.0, depths are referenced to CF. Therefore, the KB and CF elevations (or KB-CF offset) are now required as data entries.

When importing multiple gauges simultaneously, the columns for each gauge are displayed in random order. This will be resolved in a service upgrade.

Although a huge effort was made to test the new AEUB PAS formats, some test submissions indicated potential errors in the WTC system, which were not corrected in the AEUB beta test site at the time of releasing ValiData version 5.000. Therefore, testing will continue and changes to the software will be forwarded as necessary, until all problems are resolved.

Version 5.018 (July 2004)

Known Issues/Fixes

The method of calculating static gradients used in ValiData prior to version 4.000 is still accessible.

The basic function of the Static Gradient column has not changed. You still select the gradient using the specified gradient column. The system does not automatically determine where the interface is any more you have to do that. By shutting this automatic feature off we got rid of the system insisting on partial gradients.

MPP calculations require you to fill Top and Base (TVD) interval under the PAS TestData screen. You can directly access this pannel under gradient menu. Remember PAS requires KB elevations for stop depths. Givin Top and Base the program calculates the its mid point and applies the gradients to determine the pressure at MPP.
